能面な日々（The days of carving Noh Mask）

若曲見6 彩色完了（wakashakumi6 coloured） ― 2021/07/03

色彩の壁にぶち当たっては何とか乗り越えています。

すり鉢に今作ったばかりの色と面に塗って乾いた時の色は

違うので注意が必要です。

I came up against a brick wall of colour and I managed to get over it.

The colour you just made in the mortar is different from the colour

when you applied to the mask and dried. You have to be careful.

あくまで仕上がった時の色を想定して色を作ります。

面積効果もあって思っていた色とは違ってビックリします。

経験を積まないと上手くならないようです。

しかし諸事情の壁だけは乗り越えられず

廻り込んだりしています(笑)。

I have to make the colour assuming the colour when it is finished.

Due to the size-of-source effect, you're surprised that the colour is 

different from what you expected. It doesn't seem to colour without 

experience. However, I can't overcome the barriers of 

various circumstances and go around.

いつものように胡粉で下地作りをします。

As usual, I'm making a base with whitewash.

紙やすりを掛けます。

入り隅に溜まった胡粉は彫刻刀で削り取ります。

Sandpapering.

You have to scrape off the whitewash that collects in the corners.

Using a chisel.

利休ねずみ色で古色を付けます。

彩色で大いに悩むのはこの辺りかな。

Is it around here that I have a lot of trouble with colouring ?

ぼかしを入れます。

Blurring.

髪型をあててエンピツでなぞります。

描いたら遠くから見てバランスを取ります。

Putting a hairstyle pattern paper and tracing with a pencil.

After drawing, looking at it from a distance and balance it.

近くで見てもバランスが分かりません。

必ず遠くから見るようにします。何かのたとえでこういう

のありましたね。

You don't know the balance even if you look closely.

Be sure to look at it from a distance.

先にほつれ髪の難しい所から描いて大面積の所は最後に

平筆で塗ります。ほつれ髪は集中して一気に描き上げましょう。

First you're drawing the difficult part of frayed hair.

After that you're paining large areas with a flat brush.

You have to focus on frayed hair and draw it all at once.

完成です。

若曲見6はスタートしてから1年目にしてやっと完成しました。

It's the end.

Wakashakumi6 was finally completed in the first year since it started.
