新潟の浮世絵 (Pictures of the Floting World of Niigata) ― 2026/04/04
先月の小島正子さんに続いて私も30年越しに本を出版しました。
各地の街並みと登った山々の景色を浮世絵風に描いたものです。
ただの風景画では面白くないので何かこう印象に残るものはないかと
考えていたんです。
Following Kojima Masako's publication last month, I also published a book after 30 years.
The content consists of ukiyo-e style illustrations of streetscapes from various places
and views of mountains that were climbed.
A simple landscape painting wouldn't be interesting.
I was thinking about what kind of thing would leave a lasting impression.
印刷技術がまだ発達していなかった江戸時代にあんな素晴らしい浮世絵が
あったのに、印刷技術が高度に発達した現代になったのに
それ以上の素晴らしい絵が他にあるのかなとなんて思ったりもします。
In an era when printing technology was not yet developed,such a wonderful painting existed.
Even though we live in the modern age with highly advanced printing technology,
I sometimes wonder if there are any other paintings that are more wonderful than this.
風景をいかに正確に描くか。写真技術がまだなかった頃はそれはそれでその当時の
様子を見ることができて学術的にも大変重要な資料とはなっているんですが。
でも感性とユーモアを交えて描いてみるのも大変人間らしくていいのではないかと。
How to depict a landscape accurately.
In the days before photography,we can see how it was at that time.
It is an extremely important document academically.
But I think it's also very human to try depicting things with sensitivity and humour.
小島正子さん出版記念パーティ ― 2026/03/23
今週、フラメンコ舞踊家小島正子さんの出版記念パーティに出席してきました。
場所は新潟グランドホテル。来賓客はそうそうたる顔ぶれでした。
新潟市長、前新潟副市長、出版社エムツーカンパニーの関係者、
対談では芥川賞作家 藤沢 周。司会はTeNY堀俊彦さん。
I attended Flamenco dancer Kojima Masako's book launch party this week.
The venue was the Niigata Grand Hotel. The guests of honor were a truly distinguished group.
The mayor of Niigata City, the former deputy mayor, M2publisher's official.
Akutagawa Prize-winning author Fujisawa Syuu attended the discussion.
The master of ceremonies was Hori Toshihiko of Television Niigata Network Co., Ltd.
芸術関連のお客さんが多い雰囲気といったた感じ、また女性が圧倒的に多かったようです。
彼女の本は子育奮闘記と言いましょうか、題名は「15歳が選んだ世界」です。
私はついつい自分の15歳の頃の記憶と重ね合わせてしまいました。
It felt like there were a lot of art-related customers.
Also, it seems that there were overwhelmingly more women.
The book's title could be something like Parenting Struggle
"The world chosen by a 15-year-old".
I couldn't help but compare it to when I was fifteen.
彼女の息子たちは既にコロムビアから「徳永兄弟」としてデビューしています。
そしてこの会場にも駆けつけてくれまるでコンサートのように盛り上がったのは
いうまでもありません。アンコールの余韻が覚めぬまま閉会となった感じでした。
Her sons have already debuted under the name "Tokunaga Brothers" with Columbia Records.
And they also came to this venue.
It goes without saying that it was as exciting as a concert.
The event concluded with the lingering afterglow of an encore.
西堀のアンビエンテで余韻の続きを味わってみたいと思ったのは言うまでもありません。
It goes without saying that I wanted to savor the lingering aftertaste
at Ambiente on Nishibori Street.
