彩色練習用 (For colour practising ) ― 2023/12/03
以前作った墨書面を彩色の練習用にしました。
水に浸けて一度色を落とします。
I replaced the ink writing mask I made before for coloring practice.
I'm soaking it in water to remove colour.
乾かして胡粉を塗って自由自在に色を塗ったり剥がしたり
するためのものです。毎回、はれ物に触るように緊張して慎重に
塗っていては世界が開けません。
This is for practice purposes and allows you to freely paint and peel off the colours.
The world won't open up to you if you apply it nervously and carefully everytimes,
as if treating it with kid gloves.
失敗してもどうなってもいいような練習台も必要です。と言っても
最初に作ったものを練習用にするには勇気が要りましたけどもね。
You also need another one for practicing where it doesn't matter
what happens if you fail.
It took some courage to use the first mask I made for practice.
何が面倒かというと胡粉を塗ってペーパーを掛ける手間がそれですね。
胡粉の粉があちこちに付くので他の作業と同時並行作業にすると
これまた清掃をしながらの作業となって面倒きまわりないです。
It is also a hassle to apply white-wash and sand paper.
You get white-wash on everywhere.
When working in parallel with other tasks. you have no choice but to clean it.
シミ、そばかす、ホクロ、アカギレ、色落ち、色剥げを上手く表現するには
やっぱりこの工程は避けて通れないかも知れません(笑)。
To effectively express age spots, freckles, moles, chapped skin, colour fading, and peeling,
I think this process may not be avoidable after all.
木材を直方体に切る (Cutting wood into rectangular parallelepipeds ) ― 2023/12/17
今年の冬は大雪の予報も出ていますが、12月なのに刺すような寒さは
なく、スノータイヤはアスファルトの上を走り続けています。
Heavy snow is forecast for this winter.
Even though it's December, it's not bitingly cold.
My car with studless tyres has been continuing to run on the asphalt.
昨年の今頃、材料の丸太を仕入れてから1年となります。
何せ数があるのと疲れるから1年経ってもまだスクエアの形の段階です。
夏の猛暑でクラクラしながらノコギリで形を整えていたことが思い出されます。
It has been a full year since I purchased the logs for the material around this time last year.
Even after a year, it is still in the square shape stage.
because there are a lot of them and the work is tiring.
I remember using a saw to shape it while feeling dizzy in the intense summer heat.
今年の冬は今度は逆に寒さに震えながら角を取る作業が待っています。
その前にケガキ作業があるか。「嫌だな。」と思いつつも、それをやらなきゃ
前に進みません。
Next time the work of removing the edges is ahead in the frigid cold.
Is there some scribing work to do before that?
Even though I don't like it, I can't move forward unless I do it.
ノコギリを使うだけ体が発熱して暖かくなるのが唯一の救いですが。
週末しか時間が取れないので春先まででこれを続けて、彫りの第一発目は
5月の連休頃となりましょうか。
The only saving grace is that my body generates heat and gets warm because I use a saw.
I only have time on the weekends, so I'll continue this until early spring.
The first carving will be around the holidays in May.
それまで彩色と並行作業で粛々と進めるのがやっとかな。
それと夏前から結構忙しくなるので作業はそれなりに先伸びになる可能性が大です。
I guess I'll be working on colouring and parallel work until then.
Also, I will be quite busy before summer.
There is a high possibility that the work will be postponed to some extent.
橋姫3 (Hashihime3) ― 2023/12/30
今年もあと1日で終わります。
自ら目の前にやることを作って延々と走っています。
コロナはどうなった。でもマスクはまだ外せません。
Only a one day left this year.
I'm creating what I dare to do in front of me.
And I've been working forever.
How is the situation with the coronavirus?
I can't take my mask off.
あと4個で手持ちの彩色作業は終わります。
その後の事を考えると彫り用にせめて4個くらいは準備しなくては
なりませんが。
I only need 4 more pieces to complete my colouring work.
Afer that I need to prepare at least 4 pieces for carving.
そんな中で出来たのが橋姫3です。3というのはもちろん3個目
という意味ですが、彩色に関してはあまり納得しておりませんが、
キリのいいところでここで完了とします。
Meanwhile, Hashihime 3 was created.
Of course, "3" means the third one.
I'm not very satisfied with the colouring though.
Let's finish here when it's convenient.
一度出来たものを壊して作るというのは芸術の世界ではよくあること
らしいですが、それをやると覚悟が必要なのでイマイチ躊躇している段階です。
It seems that it is common in the art world to destroy something
that has already been created.
I'm really hesitant to do that because it requires determination.
来年も引き続き作り続けます。
