大べしみ2 その2（Obeshimi2 part2） ― 2022/11/05
一昨日のJアラートにはびっくりして思わず空を見上げてしまいましたね。
柏崎市のコンクリートの頑丈な建物の屋上にいたので安心と言えば安心でしたが。
そういえば近くに東京電力柏崎刈羽原発があるのでよくよく考えるとちょっと心配。
I was surprised by the Japanese Government's J-Alert system the day before yesterday,
I unintentionally looked up at the sky.
I was on the rooftop of a sturdy concrete building in kashiwazaki City, so I'm a little relieved.
Speaking of which, there is Kashiwazaki-kariwa Nuclear Power Station nearby.
Thinking about it, I'm a little worried.
この辺りから各部分と全体のバランスを常に考えながら彫り進めます。
You have to think about the balance between each part and the whole from around here.
顔の中で一番高いラインを抑えました。
I've carved the highest line in the face.
この辺りで耳を荒彫りしておきます。
You should roughly carve the ears at this step.
裏面の反りを今の内に切っておきます。
You should cut the warp on the back side while you can.
結構な凸凹がありますね。
There is a lot of unevenness.
表面完了です。
The front side is complete.
裏は地道に進めます。
You should proceed the back steadily.
両側の彫り具合を同じになるように進めます。
このバランスが崩れるとスムーズに進まなくなります。
You should proceed so that the carving condition on both sides is the same.
If this balance is lost, it will not progress smoothly.
明日は柏崎に行きます。北陸自動車道からの景色は見飽きたので
気晴らしに下道の景色でも楽しむこととしよう。
I will go to kashiwazaki City tomorrow.
I'm tired of seeing the scenery from the Hokuriku Expressway, so
let's enjoy the scenery of a local road for a change of pace.
大べしみ2 その3（Obeshimi2 part3） ― 2022/11/19
近くの公園でタイヤを交換しましたした。正味30分。大汗をかく。しかし私の場合
その前後の手間暇の方が厄介なんです。これでいつでも遠出できますね。
と言っても来年の雪解けのタイヤ交換までほとんどをアスファルトの上を走るので
タイヤの減りが早いんです。
I changed the tyres at a nearby park. It was 30 minutes net.
I was sweating a lot as usual.
But in my case, the time and effort before and after that is more troublesome.
So I can go out anytime.
My car will run on asphalt most of the time until the snow melts next year.
The tyres will wear soon.
その足で旧村松町の「蛭野」まで足鳴らして行って来ました。イチョウがすこぶる
奇麗で家族連れとカメラマンが多かったかな。青空の中、イチョウの葉がチラホラ
落ちてくる中に佇むと精神が落ち着きますな。
Then I went to Hiruno at formerly known as Muramatsu Town.
Ginkgo trees were very beautiful, so there were many families and photographers.
Under the blue sky,standing in the midst of falling ginkgo leaves will calm my mind.
私は「ぎんなん茶屋」で小休止。カメラを持ってこなかったので写真はありません。
BGMを聞きながら信号のない阿賀野川の土手を走るのは毎度ながら
気持ちがいいですな。
帰って早速彫りに取りかかります、ビョーキかなこれは(笑)。
I took a short break at Gingko teahouse. It was quite busy there.
I didn't bring my camera so no pictures.
It always feels good to drive along a bank of the Agano River
with no traffic lights while listening to BGM.
I got to carve as soon as I got home. Am I Nohmask addict?

さて、今年最後の大型面は「べし見悪尉2」となります。
来年は女面と般若に集中しようかなと考えております。
Well, the last large mask of this year will be beshimi-akujo2.
Next year, I'm planning to concentrat on female masks and Hannya.
べし見悪尉2 その1（Beshimi-akujo2 part1） ― 2022/11/26
べしみ悪尉は今年最後の面となります。正面からの写真一枚だけで
型紙を作らなければなりません。大分慣れてきておよそ分かるように
なりましたが、修正箇所が亡くなることはありません。
Beshimi akujo will be the last mask for this year.
You have to make the mask with just one photo from the front
I got quite used to doing it and I have come to understand it more or less.
That'll never run out of modification.
手持ちの材料もそろそろ数が少なくなってきました。現在残っているのは
かれこれ10年以上乾燥させていますがまだ手が付きません。しかし、
今から切出して乾燥させておかないと数年後の材料は無いということになります。
I'm running out of materials on hand.
What's left now has been dried for over 10 years. But I can't start work on them yet
I have to cut it out now and let it dry.
Otherwise there will be no material a few years later.
来月には材料を仕入れて切って乾燥させる予定にしています。
その段取りをそろそろ始めないと。日頃あまりいい事はありませんが(笑)、
これも貴重な楽しみなんです。
Next month, I'm planning to purchase the materials, cut them, and dry them.
I have to start making preparation for that soon.
I don't have many good things to do these days(laughing),
This is also a precious pleasure for me.
コロナ第8波も広がりつつありますが、早くも関係者に感染者・濃厚接触者が
増えてきました。オミクロンとインフルエンザ対策はどうしようかと考える毎日です。

さて、うまく彫れるかな。

まずはセンターを何が何でも彫り上げます。
ここが終わらないと一歩も先に進まないので「とにかく彫れ」と自分に言い聞かせます。
No matter what, I will carve out the centre-line.
If this is not finished, you will not move forward even one step.
I persuaded myself to carve it anyway.
センターが決まってしまえばここより左右方向には高い箇所はありません。
Once the centre-line is determined, there is no higher place
in the left and right direction than here.
輪郭を彫り上げました。古いラインが残っていますが、間違わない様に
○×を付けています。でもタマには間違えますよ(笑)。
I carved out the outline. There are still some old lines left.
○× is attached so as not to make a mistake.
But I also make mistakes once in a while.
