般若白 彩色 (Hannya white colouring) ― 2026/06/02
恐らく般若は人気があるだろうからなるべく数作っておこうと思っている面です。
胡粉で下地処理を終えた真っ白な面を見てどんな色にしようかと頭を悩ませます。
これはちょうど、絵画に例えれば絵を描く前のに真っ白な画面を見て悩んいる、
音楽に例えれば曲を作る前の真っ新な五線紙を見て悩んでいる。
Hannya is probably quite popular.
This is one of the masks I'm planning to make as many of as possible.
Looking at the pure white mask primed with gofun,
I rack my brains over what colours to use next.
It's just like an artist agonizing in front of a blank canvas
before starting to paint.
It's just like staring at a completely blank sheet of staff paper
before composing a piece of music, not knowing where to start.
と相通ずるところがあるのではと、勝手なことを書いて一人慰めています。
早い話が、考えてないでさっさと進めろということなんでしょう(笑)。
般若白と題名を付けておきながら全然真っ白ではありませんね。
さて、彩色は覚えているだろうかと試行錯誤でやってみたところ何とかなりました。
I just write whatever I want to comfort myself.
So basically, you're saying I should stop overthinking it
and just get on with it, right?
Despite being titled "Hannya White," it's not pure white at all.
Now, I tried to remember how to colour it by trial and error.
It worked out in the end.
泥眼 彩色 (Deigan colouring) ― 2026/06/06
これは埋木処理したものです。昨年、彫の過程はアップロード済みですが、
下地の不具合処理はやっぱり余計な手間暇がかかります。
This has been patched with a wood plug.
The carving process was already uploaded last year.
Fixing defects in the base layer really does take extra time and effort.
これからの時期は膠が固まらないので色付け作業がスムーズに進みます。
気温が18℃を切ると乳鉢をその都度ストーブの近くまで持って行き、
暖めて膠を溶かさないと仕事になりません。
In this coming season, the glue doesn't set quickly, so coloring work goes smoothly.
When the temperature falls below 18°C, I bring the mortar over to the stove each time.
I can't work unless I heat the glue to melt it.
完成しましたが、傷・アカギレ・しみ・ソバカス・クロズミ・
ほくろ・皺・肌荒れがちょっと足りなかったかな。次回の課題です。
It's completed though.
Maybe I should have added a few more scratch, chapped skin, age spots and freckles,
dark spots, dark patches, moles, wrinkles, and rough skin.
Maybe these can be the tasks for next time.
近江女 彩色 (Omi-onna colouring) ― 2026/06/10
矢継ぎ早に次の近江女をアップします。
彩色が続くとコツを思い出して仕事がはかどります。今はね(笑)。
何というか女面は違いを出すのに苦労しますね。
I'll quickly upload the next Omi-onna.
As I keep coloring, I remember the tricks and my work goes more smoothly,
especially for now.
Well, it's hard to make female faces look distinct, you know.
ここをこういう風に削ったら小面になるといった確実な方程式がまだ
見つかりません。でも近江女は少し特徴があるので、何回作っても
一応似てきますが。
If you carve this part like this, it will become Koomote.
I haven't found such a reliable method yet.
However, Omi-onna have some distinctive features, so no matter how many times I draw them,
they end up looking somewhat similar.
今流行りのAIは回答が出せるかな。「近江女、小面、小姫など各女面の写真を何十枚、
何百枚と見せてそれぞれ特徴を数値で示せ。」とAIに命令したとします。
とにかく今は手持ちの20個を端からやっつけています。
Can the latest AI answer this?
Show tens or hundreds of photos of female masks such as Omi-onna or Koomote
then express the characteristics of each one in numerical form.
For now, I'm just working my way through the twenty I have one by one.
