猿飛出 彩色 ( Saru-Tobide colouring) ― 2026/09/28
さて、今回の猿飛出で手持ちの未彩色の面は最後となります。
過去に大飛出、子飛出を作ったことがあるので
その延長上の面となりましょうか。
With this Sarutobide mask, I've reached the last of my unpainted masks.
I have made large and small versions of the "Tobide".
Would that be the same mask as its extension?
2、3年前に彫り終えていた最後の面で特徴は金泥一色となっています。
その中でもグラデーションで変化を付けますがこれがなかなか
一筋縄では行きません。
This is the last mask I finished carving two or three years ago.
It is characterized by being entirely in gold paint.
We'll add variation using gradients. This is pretty tricky.
金泥は一度塗ってもポロポロと剥離するので厄介です。
9割を肌のグラデーションに費やし、残りの1割で口と目を仕上げます。
最後の傷はもう機械的に進めて完了です。
Gold mud tends to flake off even after a single application,
which makes it troublesome to work with.
I spend about 90% of the time on skin gradients and
use the remaining 10% to finish the mouth and eyes.
For the last scratch, we can just handle it mechanically and finish it.
20個位あった面は2個の予備を残して完了となります。
予備は追って必要に迫られたら仕上げるこことしましょう。
I started with about 20 pieces, and the job is complete
as long as we have 2 spares left.
Let's prepare the backup later, when it actually becomes necessary.
今週後半から別件で久々に忙しくなります。というかあえて忙しくなるように
しました。ここにきてまだ先立つものに追われるというのも
何というか何て言うんでしょうね。
ま、うまく切り回したいと思っています。

生成 彩色 (Namanari colouring) ― 2026/08/09
今週の35度はさすがに暑かったですね。しかし西日本の連日40度越えに比べると、
来週の30度少し越えなどはただの暑い夏と思えばさほど気になりません。
とはいえ年齢も年齢なので過信は禁物です(笑)。
This week's 35 degrees Celsius was really hot, wasn't it?
However, compared with the consecutive days of
40°C-plus temperatures in western Japan,
I'm not too worried about temperatures slightly over 30 degrees Celsius next week.
That said, given my age, I shouldn’t overestimate my abilities.
本日の新潟駅前までの3時間ほどの散歩？も汗で全身びしょ濡れとなり
このまま水に飛び込みたい気分に駆られました。
（車で行けば？と言った意見もどこからか聞こえてきそうですが
そうも諸事情が許しません。）
Today's walk to Niigata Station took about three hours.

I'm thinking about how last year went.
生成というお面は特に気にしてないんですが、もっとぐちゃぐちゃな顔に
したかったのですが、なぜか左右まとまってしまったので色を濃くしてみました。
I'm not particularly concerned about the mask called "Namanari".
I wanted to make the face even more messed up, but
For some reason, everything on the left and right got bunched together,
so I tried making the colour darker.
泥棒というか鼠男のようになりましたね。ま、いいか。これはこれで。
時間もあるんですがないことだし(笑)。
次回はいつになるかわかりませんが、もう少し正式な生成としましょう。
He has turned into a bit of a thief, like a sneaky rat-man.
Oh, well. This is fine as it is.
I'm not sure when the next time will be, but let's make it a bit more formal Namanari.

泥眼 彩色 (Deigan colouring) ― 2026/06/06
これは埋木処理したものです。昨年、彫の過程はアップロード済みですが、
下地の不具合処理はやっぱり余計な手間暇がかかります。
This has been patched with a wood plug.
The carving process was already uploaded last year.
Fixing defects in the base layer really does take extra time and effort.
これからの時期は膠が固まらないので色付け作業がスムーズに進みます。
気温が18℃を切ると乳鉢をその都度ストーブの近くまで持って行き、
暖めて膠を溶かさないと仕事になりません。
In this coming season, the glue doesn't set quickly, so coloring work goes smoothly.
When the temperature falls below 18°C, I bring the mortar over to the stove each time.
I can't work unless I heat the glue to melt it.
完成しましたが、傷・アカギレ・しみ・ソバカス・クロズミ・
ほくろ・皺・肌荒れがちょっと足りなかったかな。次回の課題です。
It's completed though.
Maybe I should have added a few more scratch, chapped skin, age spots and freckles,
dark spots, dark patches, moles, wrinkles, and rough skin.
Maybe these can be the tasks for next time.
